About College Park

The College Park neighborhood in Orlando, Florida is a historic neighborhood located just north of downtown Orlando and west of Winter Park. It is known for its tree-lined streets and historic homes, many of which were built in the 1920s and 1930s. The neighborhood was named after the nearby Florida Military Academy, which was located in the area from 1878 to 1923. The academy was later renamed the Orlando Military Academy, and it eventually became a part of the University of Central Florida. In the 1920s and 1930s, College Park experienced a period of growth as new homes were built to accommodate the city's growing population. Many of these homes were constructed in the Mediterranean Revival and Craftsman styles, which are still prevalent in the neighborhood today.
